A pulse oximeter is a medical device used to measure the oxygen saturation (SpO2) and pulse rate in the blood. In a pulse oximeter, a crystal oscillator is usually used to provide a reference clock signal to ensure that the various electronic components and modules in the device can work synchronously, thereby achieving accurate data collection, processing, and display.
Many pulse oximeters are equipped with a display or LED indicator for real-time display of data such as blood oxygen saturation and pulse rate. The crystal oscillator is used to control the refresh rate of the display to ensure that the displayed data and graphics can be presented to the user in a smooth and stable manner.
In addition, some advanced pulse oximeters may have a communication interface for transmitting the collected data to an external device, such as a computer or smartphone, for further analysis and recording.
